Elk River Flag Football Air Quality Index Guidelines

The safety of all participants is our primary concern, guidelines are based on MDH recommendations using the Air Quality Index (AQI) from AirNow.gov

Green/Yellow (0–100, Good/Moderate)

No restrictions, normal play.

Orange (101–150, Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups) (0–100, Good/Moderate)

  • Children with asthma or lung disease should move indoors or, if possible, play at a lower intensity
  • Increase rest breaks to every 20 minutes

Red (151–200, Unhealthy for Everyone)

  • If possible, move all high-intensity outdoor activities indoors
  • Reschedule, shorten, or cancel practice/games

Purple/Maroon (201+, Very Unhealthy/Hazardous) Cancel or postpone all outdoor activities and games

To ensure the safety of all participants, we monitor air quality closely on game days. We use AirNow.gov to determine the Air Quality Index (AQI) for our specific location one hour prior to the start of scheduled activities.

We respect that every family has different comfort levels. Participation always remains entirely at families discretion, and we fully support whatever decision families feel is best for their players.
